• Question: Do you have a reason directly connected to you or your family for trying to work out what is behind cancer, or is it to cure the world in general?

Hi Bellsbee. There is actually very little cancer in my family (my grandma and Grandpa died of it, but in old age), I just like working on something thats likely to help people – it spurs me on. My family are all doctors, nurses and social workers, so I suppose I’m pretty influenced by them as well. Also, working in cancer research you work closely with a lot of medical doctors, and I find that really interesting and motivating. They really connect me to the people we’re trying to help.
