Possibly, but it will take us a very, very long time. There are many types of cancer, and they all behave differently, so we will need to find a lot of cures. As scientists, we normally work on just one or two cancers (I work mainly on breast and brain cancer, for example), so we’re going to need a lot of scientists too!

Also, cancers are a part of your body so it can be very hard to kill them without hurting your normal cells at the same time. This can make finding a cure difficult – you may know exactly what is driving the cancer, but if its also something that makes your brain work, or your lungs work, you can’t give a drug to stop it without killing the patient!
This alI sounds a bit depressing, but I think that, whilst we might find it hard to cure some cancers, we might be able to slow down their growth so that people who have cancer can live for longer. If you can keep the tumours small and stop them from spreading, you could actually live for quite a long time with some cancers.
