I had a few, I worked in a clothes shop called Evans, in a pub called the Prince of Wales, the perfume shop, for the Inland Revenue and I did some lab work. All of which have helped me in my jobs since leaving uni.
I was in the last year of students that was paid by the government to go university (thats right, not a loan, they actually paid me). It wasn’t a lot of money, but we didn’t have to pay any fees either, so I could get away with not working. I did do some labwork in the summer and I also did a year in industry. This is where you take a year out from your degree and work (I worked in Kew Botanic Gardens). It was a great opportunity to get some work experience – I really recommend them.
